Matthew who is a product of Brook House Football Academy in London, remain one of the foreign lad that will be representing the Golden Eaglet at the U17 AFCON in Algeria. Sports Minister Orders Closure of National Stadium Lagos:

The National Stadium Surulere in Lagos will be temporarily closed, due to the collapse of the floodlight. Sports Minister Sunday Dare, made this known, after inspecting the collapsed floodlight mast and the remaining standing floodlights. Speaking to his media team, immediately after the Honourable Minister inspected the stadium, he ordered the closure of the stadium; “Thank God there was no casualty. I also inspected the 3 other light masts & the effects of age & weather elements were visible… clearly, they are also suspect after 51 years. Based on my assessment, advice of experts and in the interest of public safety, with the temporary closure of the stadium and surrounding facilities, proper assessment and necessary action will be taken soon. Youth Bulge: NIPSS Seeks Collaboration With Ministry of Youth And Sports Development:

Ministry, NIPSS To Partner On Youth Engagement & Youth Data Bank. The National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS) says youth bulge challenge in the country is an existential threat that must be addressed headlong through collaborative effort with relevant Ministries Departments and Agencies (MDAs), the private sector and the institute.   The dream of many a Nigerian youth taking advantage of a FIFA fully sponsored stadium to become future stars has been cut short, as the contractor handling the Ugborodo Community Stadium project in Warri, Delta State is not sure of when it will be commissioned, two years after a failed-promised commissioning date. In 2016, FIFA came up with a four-year cycle of financial assistance for all 211 member associations (NFF inclusive), which kicked off the same year called "FIFA Forward 1.0. FIFA Forward 1.0 ended in 2019 while FIFA Forward 2.0 which began in January 2019 ended in December 2022. In the four-year cycle program, FIFA gave funds to the NFF to build two stadiums. Meanwhile, FIFA Forward 3.0 commenced in January 2023 which marked the end of FIFA Forward 2.0. "FIFA can't owe a member association any balance from a programme when another one has commenced."
