Minister to Grace Dr Olukoya Women Basketball Championship


In line with the Minister of Youth and sports Development Mr. Sunday Sunday Dare's  vision of grassroots  sports Development   via private initiative, the Minister will be a special guest at the maiden edition of the Dr & Mrs Daniel Olukoya Women Basketball  Championship.

According to a statement signed by Godwin Enakhena, Director   Sports  MFM "The Minister  of Youth and sports Development Mr Sunday Dare has assured that he will be at the maiden edition  of the Dr and Mrs Daniel Olukoya Female Basketball Championship  at  the  Yaba College of Technology  on Sunday July 4th, 2021.This champion is organised  by the MFM General Overseer as part of his support  to sports Development, engage the girl child and reposition them for a better future"

Enakhena disclosed further "8 teams from Ogun, Ondo, Delta, Abuja and Lagos will take part at the event with 1st placed team carting home a cash price of  500k,2nd 300k and 3rd placed getting  200k.

 He affirmed that this champion  will keep the players busy since the Basketball League has not been played since late 2019.

 The competition  which started on  Monday June 28 will climax on Sunday July 4 with the final game.

_Directs LG Chairs to Open another Account to receive Funds_ In another turn of events, the Executive Governor of Oyo State, Engr. Seyi Makinde, has deviced another way to swindle Local Government funds. Governor Makinde, yet to come to terms, on the Supreme Court ruling over LG Autonomy, has been trying all possible means to ensure that, the funds accruing to the local governments in Oyo State remains under his control.
