NIS DG Died in January 2021. Minister Did not Remove Him

 Get the facts !

* It is not true that the Minister removed the former DG of NIS. The former DG died on the job in January 2021 facts have revealed. And CKD can confirm.

Dr. John Dadi-Mamud, Director-General, National Institute for Sports (NIS) died in January after a brief illness.

Dadi-Mamud, who hails from Kogi State, was confirmed dead on Sunday, Jan 24, 2021, in Lagos. He was not removed rather a replacement had to be done. The Ministry did the needful.

The Minister followed laid down procedures, reviewed potential candidates and made his recommendation to Mr. President for approval. In September the new DG Professor Morounkola formerly of the University of Ibadan assumed duties as the new DG.

Recall that a a senate budget presentation the chairman accused the Minister of removing the NIS DG. Now we know it is not true.

For any one to claim the Minister removed the former DG is simply a lie aimed at painting the Minister as an ethnic jingoist. The information about developments about NIS is in the public space and easily verifiable.

End.
