Message at the TSO Press Conference delivered by Honorable Aminu Suleiman, The DG Tinubu Support Organization (TSO) on Tuesday 18th January, 2022 in Abuja.

Our message today to Nigerians is about an all-important subject-matter that has been the heartbeat of an average Nigerian, it is the subject of discussion in most fora, family meetings, official gatherings and general discussions.

The Message

The message is about the man of the moment, the man with a distinctly defined destiny coupled with a purposefully prepared life to deliver a national mandate that will have an everlasting positive effect and dramatic turn-around not only on Nigeria of today but also on the generations to come. Summarily, it is about the man with a mandate to give rebirth to a new Nigeria that will be an envy to the world and the mechanism our organisation has put in place to bring this to a reality.

The Man – Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Adekunle Tinubu

Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Adekunle Tinubu simply called Bola Tinubu or Jagaban; the Asiwaju of Lagos, a Nigerian with exceptional leadership qualities with a distinctly divine mandate to lead the most populous black nation in the world to the realization of her dream and proper placement among the other nations of the world. Asiwaju, the most influential, widely connected and celebrated politician of his generation was a one-time security guard in the city of Chicago during his school days; he however graduated in flying colors and was offered various jobs by different high-class companies in America such as Arthur Herdenson, Delooitee, GTE amongst many others. The brilliant, diligent Bola Tinubu chose to work with Arthur Henderson from there he moved over to GTE and later joined Exxon Mobile in the UK after resigning from GTE. Asiwaju Bola Tinubu returned home (Nigeria) and got a job with Mobil Nigeria as an auditor; due to his hardwork and commitment he was promoted to the office of a treasurer at a time the company was rocked with crisis so that the ever-effective and efficient Tinubu can stabilize the boat of the firm.

After achieving this almost impossible task in Mobil Nigeria, the great visionary leader threw in the towel and joined full politics. He won outstandingly the senatorial seat to represent Lagos West at the 1992 Senate with the highest votes in the nation.

Asiwaju Tinubu, a dogged fighter for democracy and the rights of the less privileged, during the NADECO struggle stood to uphold the mandate of late Chief MKO Abiola, the president Nigeria never had. Supported by his ever committed, reliable and dependable wife Chief Mrs. Oluremi Tinubu, Bola confronted the military junta and dictatorship with sensitization and encouragement of the masses which led to the birth of the fourth republic in 1999; the democracy we enjoy till date.

A loyal party man, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu contested and emerged as the first democratically elected governor of Lagos State of the fourth republic in 1999 during this period he raised men who today have grown to be governors, ministers and movers in their area of endeavor; some of such men include Prof Yemi Osinbajo the current Vice President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Babatunde Fasola SAN, a two term minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Engr. Rauf Aregbesola a two term governor of Osun State and current minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Babajide Sanwoolu, Executive Governor of Lagos State, Mr. Dele Alake just to mention a few. This unique, unprecedented and highly enviable feat was possible because of his ability to identify and develop potential leaders and men with embedded seed of greatness. Asiwaju has the ingenuity of promoting talented people into position of relevance. 

Jagaban’s ability to condescend and relate with various sectors and calibers of men is next to none. He is a grassroot politician who mixes freely with all cadres of people without discrimination, such as the illiterates, the market women, politicians, professionals, artisans, academicians among others. He is a mentor, teacher and life coach to many not only in the school of politics but in life generally.

In his 8-year leadership as the governor of Lagos State, He turned Lagos into the envy for other states and governors who even came down to understudy his dynamic mode of modern-day governance which is all inclusive and also highly productive. Asiwaju Bola drew the template that gave birth to a new Lagos- the rebirth modeler is at it again, now to set to make Nigeria go beyond being the giant of Africa numerically but also become the pride of Africa.

He is generosity personified, a kindhearted, accommodating and considerate leader who sincerely listens to others’ views and opinions from which he follows the superior argument. Asiwaju Bola Tinubu an enigma, a philanthropist and consistent politician. Asiwaju, a detribalized national icon has travelled and influenced all the nooks and crannies of the country Nigeria- he has made himself all things to all Nigerians by identifying with their pains and providing solutions as appropriate. This is evinced in the title ascribed to him by the Emir of Borgu as the Jagaban of Borgu meaning the leader of warriors; he is also the Areagbo of Egbaland; there is no better person for the most noble post in Nigeria other than your humble self, go ahead and lead us to the promised land by setting up the New Nigeria.

The Mandate - “Rebirth of a New Nigeria”

The divine mandate of our God sent leader is the “Rebirth of a New Nigeria”. Tinubu is burdened with the complaints on the lips of an average Nigerian as touching the current state of the economy, education, security threats amongst others and just as he did in Lagos State, he is coming with a verified and workable template for the rebirth of the most populous black nation worldwide which his predecessors can continue to build on as practiced in Lagos State – the economic and financial capital of Nigeria. 

The Method- Democracy 

To achieve this daunting task and deliver the long-awaited mandate, Jagaban as his character is has chosen to go through democracy where the people will decide who will lead them through the polls. Therefore, Bola Tinubu who is the first democratically elected governor of Lagos State now seeks to become the fifth democratically elected president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria in the Fourth Republic in accordance with the provisions of the 1999 Constitution of Nigeria (As Amended).

Asiwaju, applied a new and exemplary method by publicly declaring his ambition after obtaining the permission and blessing of the current president of the federal Republic of Nigeria, President Muhammadu Buhari. He became the first to openly declare his ambition therefore setting the pace for others to follow.

The Medium – Tinubu Support Organization (TSO)

The most influential and highly experienced man-builder of our time, his excellency Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu is fully aware that this all-important assignment cannot be completed without the support of credible men and organizations with solid structures to spread the message to all Nigerians from the grassroots to those in diaspora.  There is no better platform to expedite actions reliably towards the realization of this mandate other than the Tinubu Support Organization. TSO, a voluntary organization launched officially on Thursday, 19th December, 2019 comprises of quality men and women from all the various works of life with a common vision of bringing the set mandate to reality. It is a properly structured organization with National executives and state executives in all the thirty-six states of the federation and the FCT; the organization also has coordinators in all the 774 local governments in Nigeria and committed canvassers in all the wards nationwide. 

TSO, the oldest support Organization for the realization of this divine mandate was founded by Alhaji Suleiman Aminu a Northerner from Kebbi state in the North West Geo-Political Zone, a long-time ally and protégé of the visionary leader Asiwaju, coordinates the activities of the Organization with the help of state executives and ward leaders whose commitment to the realization of the mandate – “The Rebirth of a New Nigeria” cannot be over-emphasized.

The Tinubu Support Organization also stands out amongst all other Organizations with similar objectives because aside from being the oldest of them all, the Organization membership comprises of gras-rooters, professionals, academicians, politicians, philanthropist and well-meaning Nigerians who actually desire to participate in the rebirth of this great nation. The Organization also cut across all ages including the young and the old, women and men from all the 36 states of the Federation and the FCT, this can be seen from those present at this press conference; the rallying point is the vision, there is no discrimination or segregation based on religion, gender or status.

Another distinct feature of this noble Organization is the medium employed to get the message across to all and sundry. Seminars, town hall meetings, social media, news media, print media and personal contacts are all engaged to ensure no one is left out in understanding and embracing this great move towards the realization of the presidential ambition of the visionary leader aimed at rebirth of a new Nigeria. This unrelenting Organization has successfully covered all the six geopolitical zones with this message and is till doing more through the forthcoming seminar to be held in Kano in a week’s time and another seminar coming up in Osogbo, Osun State in two weeks’ time. The mission of this support Organization spans over the pre-election and election period, as the Organization has vision to keep supporting the next administration by playing the advisory role, monitoring and constructive criticisms of the policies to ensure the incoming president by God’s grace and the people’s votes maintain the focus on the mandate of “The Rebirth of a New Nigeria”
