LG Autonomy: Makinde Devices Another Means to Swindle LG Funds:

_Directs LG Chairs to Open another Account to receive Funds_

In another turn of events, the Executive Governor of Oyo State, Engr. Seyi Makinde, has deviced another way to swindle Local Government funds.

Governor Makinde, yet to come to terms, on the Supreme Court ruling over LG Autonomy, has been trying all possible means to ensure that, the funds accruing to the local governments in Oyo State remains under his control.

To further sabotage the process of transferring allocations directly to the LG accounts, Governor Makinde has directed all LG Chairmen in Oyo State, to open accounts with First Bank.

The directives were given to ensure persistent manipulation of LG funds, which has been the order of the day for so long a time, as the Oyo State Governor asked the Chairmen to submit the newly opened First Bank accounts for payment of allocation, even as previous LG accounts with First Bank remains active.

This could be part of the outcome of the meeting held with the LG Chairmen on Monday 14th October 2024 in Ibadan; as the timeline slated by the FG draws near, to commence payment directly to LG accounts.

With this new development, well meaning indigenes of Oyo State are implored to call on the appropriate authorities, not to allow such fraudulent scheming by the government of the day in Oyo State to sail through, as it'll be a step to draw the state back from  the lane of development, sustainability and prosperity, as the State and LG treasuries are been siphoned, with no meaningful projects to show for the huge allocations flowing into the coffers of the State and Local Governments in Oyo State.
