The Leadership of the National Sports Commission,NSC, has announced the composition of its Elite Athletes Development and Podium Board with former Nigerian international Yusuf Ali as the board's Chief Executive Office , CEO. In a statement signed by the Director General of the National Sports Commission, Hon, Bukola Olopade, the board has been saddled with the mandate of  creating a sustainable system for Nigeria Elites and their welfare. According to the statement, Mr Bambo Akanni of the making of Champions will serve as a consultant and member of the Committee. The 13 member committee will also have Prof. Ken Anugweje as Adviser and Member. Other members of the committee include Dr Emmanuel Igbinosa, Salihu Abubakar, Aku Aghazu, Tunde Adelakun and Prof. Sadiq Abdulahi. Bukola Olopade, has congratulated the Nigeria U19 Cricket Team for their famous win over New Zealand at the ICC U19 Cricket  World Cup in Malaysia. The Nigeria Junior Female Yellow Greens as the Nigerian U19 Team are fondly called, shocked the entire Cricket World with a two-run win over test playing giant, New Zealand on Monday. The game which was seen by many as the battle of underdogs and giants was delayed for about two hours due to heavy downpour before the Nigerian girls shocked one of the tournament's top favourites. Reacting to the team's performance, the DG described the win as a famous one that will go down in the history books as one of the sports biggest upsets.
