Board members reaffirm Lekan Fatodu as new President of Nigeria Aquatics Federation:

  _wins landslide By-election to lead Nigeria Aquatic family_ 

Board members of the Nigeria Aquatics Federation have reaffirmed  Lekan Fatode as the new President of the Federation, through a by-election held in Abuja on Friday.

Fatodu who enters the board with an admirable rich sporting experience, as the Director General of the Lagos State sports Commission, succeeds the late President of the Federation, Dr  Chamberlain Dunkwu.

The new President was given the all clear through a by-election which was supervised and endorsed  by the National Sports Commission, NSC.

The new President won the By-election with a landslide votes of 10 to 1 which automatically confirmed him as the President of the country's Aquatics Federation for the next four years 

The board members who first of all expressed deep regrets over the demise of their former President said they have full confidence in the capacity of Lekan Fatodu to lead the Aquatic Federation to an admirable height.

The New President Lekan Fatodu has expressed gratitude to the leadership of the National Sports Commission and Nigeria swimming family for their understanding and the confidence they have shown in him to lead the Federation.

" I am very happy today that we are all making history together both at the level of the swimming family and the country's Sports at large".

" I cannot thank the sagacious leadership of Mallam Shehu Dikko and Hon Bukola Olopade enough, for how far they have continued to raise the standards of Nigerian sports since they came on board at the NSC".

" Both of them without mincing words are a blessing to Nigerian sports and Mr President President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR, must be commended for fishing out such a formidable duo to revamp Nigerian Sports".

" This new assignment that has been entrusted to me by the Aquatic family is one  that I embrace with total commitment and dedication and I want to assure both the aquatic family and the sports commission that will lead not disappoint them to deliver on the mandate to build a sustainable and economically viable sport for the country".
