National Youth Games: Delta State Amassed 48 Medals



Delta State is leaving no stone unturned, as they increase their medal haul.

The heartbeat, as they are fondly called, as amassed total number of 48 medals, at the ongoing National Youth Games in Ilorin.

Edo State is sitting comfortably at the second position on the log, as far as the log table is concerned.

Athletes that began today, are states of Delta, Edo, FCT, proved the reasons why they are in Ilorin with rush of medals in different categories in Athletics.

Team Edo are on the verge of gathering enough medals to sustain their position on the medals table.

Qualified for the semi final of the female 100M Athletics, while the Male Volleyball team also booked their place in the semi finals.

Relief came the way of Team Kano, when Dorcas Dauda, on Sunday evening clinched gold in women's 42kg in wrestling event, at the ongoing 6th edition of the National Youth Games.

Dorcas, at the University of Ilorin indoor sports hall, beat her opponent from Bayelsa, to mine the first gold to be recorded by Team Kano at Games.

Will Team Delta retain the overall trophy they won as defending champions in the last edition ? anyway few days to the end of the games. Time will tell.
