61 Athletes to fly Team Nigeria Flag in Tokyo  Team Nigeria will depart for the Tokyo 2020 Olympics in two batches with 61 athletes flying the country's flag, says Minister of Youth and sports Development Mr Sunday Dare.  The Minister made this disclosure on Monday while addressing the plenary meeting with National Sports Federations for the Tokyo 2020 Olympic and Paralympic games at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium, Abuja.  *NYIF: Only N3b available out of N12b Meant for First Year* Only N3 billion of the promised N12.5 billion is available for disbursement to youth under the Nigeria Youth Investment Fund, NYIF, which was approved last year.  The Ministry of Youth and Sports Development, which got approval of the Federal Executive Council for the Fund, had said the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN, was directed to make N12.5 billon available in the first year of the Fund. Checks by our correspondent however confirmed that the CBN has made only N3 billion available to NIRSAL Microfinance Bank, NMFB, through which some youth have secured loans of varying amounts under the Fund. The youth are clamouring on social media and online platform for more loans to be disbursed to enable them to grow their businesses as promised by NYIF. CCII Honours Sunday Dare with 'Most Outstanding Friend of Ibadanland' Award

The Central Council of Ibadan Indigenes (CCII) has honoured The Hon Minister of Youth and Sports Development, The Agbààkin of Ogbomosoland, Chief Sunday Dare, with the 'Most Outstanding Friend of Ibadanland' (MOFI) award. This was in appreciation of the Minister's immense and developmental contributions to Oyo State and Nigeria at large.  The award ceremony has been scheduled to hold on the 20th day of June 2021, at Ibadan House, Ibadan Oyo State, as contained in a letter dated 10th June 2021, and signed by the Chairman of the 2021 Planning Committee, Alhaji Abiola Alli.  The letter reads in part, "we, in Ibadanland have decided to celebrate you, so as to show you that Ibadan has created a deserved permanent place for you in her history.
