The Minister of Youth and Sports Development, Mr. Sunday Dare has described the late Governor of Oyo state as a committed progressive who set Oyo on the path of Modern development. “ Gov Ajimobi was undoubtedly a core progressive in words and deeds. While in office, he chose the road less travelled one that set Oyo state on the path of progressive development. Now, many people know better. The difference is clear. He was undeterred, focused and committed to expanding the frontiers of good governance”.

According to the Minister, the People of Oyo state will remain appreciative of the leadership and stewardship of the former Governor, Ajimobi, particularly in the areas of security and infrastructural development. “Ajimobi’s people-orientation and devotion saw him working not only to create a safe and conducive environment for businesses, individual enterprise, and political activities but also made Oyo state attractive and relevant “.

The Minister urged the APC members in Oyo state to close ranks and organize to deliver the people of Oyo state from the clutches of the current political retrogression into the hands of progressive governance, one which late governor Ajimobi birthed in the state.

LG Autonomy: Makinde Devices Another Means to Swindle LG Funds:

_Directs LG Chairs to Open another Account to receive Funds_ In another turn of events, the Executive Governor of Oyo State, Engr. Seyi Makinde, has deviced another way to swindle Local Government funds. Governor Makinde, yet to come to terms, on the Supreme Court ruling over LG Autonomy, has been trying all possible means to ensure that, the funds accruing to the local governments in Oyo State remains under his control. To further sabotage the process of transferring allocations directly to the LG accounts, Governor Makinde has directed all LG Chairmen in Oyo State, to open accounts with First Bank.
