Athletes,  Journalists Laud Dare's Olympics Achievement …Task Minister On Grassroots Development.

Nigerian athletes and journalists heap praise on  sports minister Sunday Dare on the nations successful outing at the Tokyo Olympics games in Japan. 

Sports journalists across the country urged him to focus on grassroots sports development and provision of infrastructure.

"He is a man with a vision and we believe in him. If not for COVID-19, I’m sure he would have accomplished a lot,” a journalist stated.

In same vain, some athletes also suggested that Honourable Sunday Dare should embark on a process that would help revive the sports sector.


“This is should be an era where sports activities should attain greater heights in Nigeria,” one of the athlete said.

Perhaps Dare's achievement was slowed down by the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic which stalled sporting activities.

_Directs LG Chairs to Open another Account to receive Funds_ In another turn of events, the Executive Governor of Oyo State, Engr. Seyi Makinde, has deviced another way to swindle Local Government funds. Governor Makinde, yet to come to terms, on the Supreme Court ruling over LG Autonomy, has been trying all possible means to ensure that, the funds accruing to the local governments in Oyo State remains under his control. To further sabotage the process of transferring allocations directly to the LG accounts, Governor Makinde has directed all LG Chairmen in Oyo State, to open accounts with First Bank.
